01 — About

An industry body,
not a networking club.

Bihar has the demand side of fintech solved — adoption here is among the fastest in India. What it has lacked is the supply side: the founders, capital, talent and policy channels that turn a market into an industry.

That gap is what we exist to close. We convene the people who can build it, and we make sure they are in the room when the state's digital finance agenda is written.

See what we run
01

Build the founders

Mentorship, product review and go-to-market support for fintech startups from Patna, Muzaffarpur, Gaya and beyond.

02

Bring the capital

A standing bridge between Bihar founders and angels, VCs, banks and NBFCs — plus help navigating state seed funding.

03

Shape the policy

A single, credible industry voice in front of regulators and the state on licensing, compliance and digital finance rules.

04

Supply the talent

Workshops, certifications and campus programmes that give Bihar the payments, risk and engineering bench it needs.

Our mandate

To make Bihar a place where a fintech company can be founded, funded, staffed and scaled — without its founders having to leave the state to do it.

What is the Bihar FinTech Association?

We are a collaborative industry body that brings together fintech startups, banks and financial institutions, investors, policymakers, academia and technology leaders to accelerate digital financial innovation across Bihar.

What is Bihar FinTech City?

Bihar FinTech City is a state-backed integrated financial and technology hub being developed on roughly 242 acres near Fatuha, Patna, modelled on GIFT City. It is planned to host banks, insurers, fintech startups, IT firms, R&D centres and incubators. The association is working to place its members among its first tenants.

Who can become a member?

Students, startup founders, working professionals, researchers, banks, NBFCs, financial institutions, incubators and technology companies with an interest in fintech can all apply. Membership runs in three tiers: Individual, Startup and Institution.

Is there a fee to join?

There is no fee to apply. Ongoing membership terms vary by tier — Individual membership is designed to stay accessible to students, while Institution membership carries a contribution that funds the association’s programmes.

How does the association support fintech startups?

We connect founders with mentors, investors and institutional partners, help them navigate the Bihar Startup Policy and its seed funding support — now up to ₹25 lakh — and give them visibility through our events, demo days and innovation challenges.

Do you run workshops and training programmes?

Yes. We regularly run workshops, masterclasses and certification programmes covering payments, lending, risk, compliance and product, for students, working professionals and institutional teams alike.

Can my company partner with the association?

Absolutely. Banks, NBFCs, incubators, universities and technology firms partner with us on innovation challenges, talent pipelines, research and events. Reach out through the contact section and we will find the right fit.

How do I contact the association?

Email info@biharfintech.org, call the number listed in the contact section, or submit the membership form on this page — whichever is easiest. We aim to respond within five working days.
